First-class scissor sharpening
I employ only the very best techniques and tools to keep your blades in prime condition. This involves dismantling the scissors, cleaning, inspecting for defects, and replacing worn parts before I even begin sharpening.
I use The American Ookami Gold System for Scissors, which create and incredibly sharp cutting edge and amazingly only removes a small amount of metal, allowing for repeated sharpening.
I then move onto honing and polishing, for a truly razor-sharp finish. I finish off with the traditional cut test of wet tissue paper.
You can rest assured that your scissors will be returned in peak condition.
Superior Clipper Sharpening
For clippers, both the comb and the cutting blade are sharpened using the Canadian AF/CAN Clipper honer, using a variation of oil and grit (sharpening compound).
I also check the spring tension, as a weak spring can effect the cutting action even if the blades are sharp. Once I’m satisfied with the finish, I apply the traditional cut test which involves a special type of string and imitation hair.
